Notgeld Deutsche Reichspost 1923
This page contains Notgeld banknotes that were issued in 1923 by Deutsche Reichspost - the German
Imperial Mail. The Deutsche Reichspost issued emergency money during the German Inflation period of 1922/23. It had a tight nationwide network of branches and as such might have been predestined to help with the money supply. However the issues of the Deutsche Reichspost are far less significant than the emergency money issues of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. The impact of its issues was fairly limited, making the bills much rarer today.
The following departments of the Deutsche Reichspost issued emergency money:
the Reichspostministerium Abteilung München (Imperial mail ministry - department Munich) and
the Oberpostdirektion (upper mail directorates) Berlin, Chemnitz, Dresden, Frankfurt/Main, Halle, Hamburg, Leipzig, Magdeburg, Stettin and Stuttgart.
