Hohenlohe Werke AG - Hohenlohehütte
The firm was founded in 1905 by Fürst zu Hohenlohe, who resided in Bavaria but owned
large amounts of land in Silesia - near Kattowitz (Katowice). There the Hohenlohe Werke were created
at Hohenlohehütte- 3km north of Kattowitz.
The company was set up for mining and processing of minerals. In 1921 the area in which the main
activities of the Hohenlohe Werke were based was handed over from Germany to Poland as a result of
Word War 1. The German interests in the company were sold to
Oehringen Bergbau AG
